Faithful Pathways: Inclusion

The first part of this passage in Mark opens the GLTBQ can of worms. But until you want to buy that a divorced person who remarries is an adulterer, I'm not having this conversation.

Instead, look at Jesus's reaction to the disciples when they try to turn away the children. "Do not stop them," Jesus commands. He takes them up in his arms, lays his hands on them, and blesses them.

Frankly, if I had been traveling this long with these people, I'd prefer to play with the children at this point as well.

We should take a lesson from both sides. Jesus includes even children. And children include everyone. You watch a young child. The world is an invitation to play and explore together without judgment.

"Receive the kingdom of God as a little child..." If we could explore what God gives us instead of judging and condemning and assuming we know everything better than anyone else...the possibilities for abundant life might be astounding....
